Marilyn's Collectibles

Clark Kidder

About The Author

I live in Janesville, Wisconsin.  My wife's name is Linda and we have two boys, Robby and Nathan.  I began collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilia about 15 years ago (1984) after hearing my grandfather, Earl Kidder, remenisce about how tragic Marilyn Monroe's death was.  He had inadvertantly sparked an interest in me in this mysterious blonde.  I read a biography or two on her and was hooked!  I began seeking out items on her at local auctions and garage sales and progressed to mail order, and now the internet!  After reading an article on New York collector George Zeno in LIFE magazine, which showed dozens of international magazine covers that Marilyn had appeared on; I began my quest for as many Monroe magazine covers as I could find!

In 1994 I authored the book entitled "Marilyn Monroe UnCovers," published by Quon Editions in Canada.  This was a book very similar to my current "Marilyn Monroe - Cover To Cover."

I am my family's genealogist and have traced my "Kidder" roots back to 1320 in Maresfield, England.  I write articles on various endangered breeds of domestic poultry for international publications and anticipate writing a few on Marilyn Monroe very soon!
