Microsoft Outlook Express Setup
(comes with Internet Explorer 5.0)
Open Outlook
Express program.
Click on Tools, and scroll down to Accounts (as shown
below).
On the Internet Accounts
window (shown below), click on the Mail tab.
If no accounts have been set up, you will see a blank screen like the one below. Click
on Add and then Mail to create a new account using the setup
wizard.
If there are other accounts listed that are not being used, remove them.
Follow the wizard through by filling in the information boxes with the proper account information:
- It will ask for a Display name, enter your name. Click Next.
- Next will be a choice between already having an email address or if you would like to sign up for a new account, select that you already have an email address, then fill in your JVLNET email address. It should be your username@jvlnet.com (all in lower case); click next.
- Make sure the incoming mail server is selected as POP3, then fill in the incoming and outgoing mail servers both with mail.jvlnet.com.
- Fill in your Account name, this is your username, then your password (both all lower case); click Next. Then click Finish
This should bring you back to the Internet Accounts screen and look like what's pictured below:
If you made a mistake or want to change anything for the account, select the account, then click on Properties. From here any properties can be modified by clicking through the tabs at the top shown here:
