Microsoft Internet News for MacIntosh Settings

The screen which accompanies these instructions reflect what you will see when entering your news server information into Internet Mail for Mac.

To get to the Preferences area, install the Microsoft Internet Explorer package (CD).
Choose your Hard Drive, and then Microsoft Internet Applications.
Click on the shortcut to Internet Mail and News 3.0. The shortcut is the icon with the hand on it (in the upper right-hand corner).
Do not open the Internet Mail and News folder (in the lower right-hand corner).
On the Preferences screen (shown below), select News from the Mail & News list and enter the following:

Under Usenet News Settings, the NNTP host should be news.jvlnet.com.
Leave the server authentication box, the Username, and Password blank. No login is necessary for JVLNET. subscribers as long as you are connecting through JVLNET.
