SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
January 9, 2005

Carole Doubleday, Council President led the meeting following Sunday service.  93 members of the congregation were present which was enough for a quorum.

Carole presented the offer made to Pastor Tina to be called as our permanent pastor.  She would work 37.5 hours per week (3/4 time) instead of 50 hours (full time).  Based on her 15 years experience and according to Synod guidelines, her salary would be $56,370.  Pastor Tina has accepted this package.

Her schedule would be as follows:
Monday - Off
Friday - Sabbatical Day
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Saturday, Sunday
3.5 hours would be left for evening hours as needed.

Char Affeldt made a motion to accept Pastor Tina as our permanent pastor.  Arlene Brauns seconded the motion.  Ballots were distributed. Doris Betz, Rolly Affeldt and Duane Ottow tallied the votes.  Vote was as follows: 72 yes, 1 no, 2 abstains.

Thursday, the task force (Pella, Calvary, Atonement) met. After much thought and consideration it has been decided that we not share a pastor with Pella and Calvary.  We need the stability that having our own Pastor will bring.  With the package that Pastor Tina accepted, financially we should be able to swing this on our own.  Pastor Tina strongly feels that we can still have a shared ministry with these churches.  We already have shared confirmation.  Other venues to share would be TMO's, WOW's, Brotherhood, Lenten Services, Advent Service, etc.

Church Council nominees are needed by the Annual Congregational Meeting to be held on Jan. 30.

Many volunteers are needed for various activities.  Visiting shut-ins, Sunday School, folding and collating bulletins, newsletters, Hands of Faith, etc.  For various reasons, several members who have helped with some of these projects are no longer available.

Budget information will be available by the 23rd so it can be reviewed before the annual meeting.

Expenses need to be cut wherever possible to
be able the meet the budget.
