ATONEMENT LUTHERAN COUNCIL MINUTES
March 14, 2005
PRESENT: Pastor Tina Koenig-Ray, Carole Doubleday, Judy Gundry, Les Nystrom, Nate Anderson, Bob Kristianson, Doris Marvin, Dick Mitchell, Mary Wendtland, Don Reedy, Bruce Johnson and Candy Hoefer.
CALL TO ORDER by Carole Doubleday at 6:40 PM. Devotions were led by Carole Doubleday.
Carole asked for any additions to the evening’s agenda... there were none.
GOOD NEWS: Wednesday night Lenten service at Atonement was well attended.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Nate Anderson made a motion that the minutes of the February meeting be accepted. Seconded by Don Reedy. MOTION PASSED.
OLD BUSINESS:
LEAD CONFERENCE: Feb 26`h Pastor Tina and Carole Doubleday attended, they both found it very interesting. They learned some new things about policies and procedures documentation and memorial fund donations, which we will be researching and implementing soon.
COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP: Grossman Fund, Thrivent representative Bruce Johnson, Marketing Judy Gundry Outreach, Property, Scholarship, Stewardship, Worship & Music, Youth Group, Alter Guild, Cradle Ross, Kids Korner, Memorial, Mutual Ministry
APRIL 10 ANNIVERSARY: There will be three honorary chairs reigning over the anniversary festivities. They have been chosen by the Anniversary committee. Bruce Johnson made a motion to "Pass the Can" for donations to help fund the anniversary celebration on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. Judy Gundry seconded, MOTION PASSED.
We discussed the booklets and ornaments that were to be ordered for the anniversary and thought we should talk with the anniversary committee about taking orders for these items rather than purchasing them in large quantities and selling them.
PURCHASE ORDERS: One request for office supplies was discussed. Nate Anderson made a motion to approve the purchase of the office supplies requested. Seconded by Don Reedy MOTION PASSED
SATURDAY NIGHT WORSHIP: Saturday night worship will continue for the time being, however the format may change
NEW BUSINESS
There was discussion about an Operations Manual implementing some of the items suggested at the LEAD CONFERENCE there will be a committee working on this.
Les Nystrom told us about the E Tithing meeting he went to.
Carole Doubleday will talk with a representative from the copy machine company about attending a council meeting to speak with us about leasing rather than buying a new copy machine.
MEALS on WHEELS: They sent us a letter requesting our participation in their March fund drive. We will "Pass the Can" on April 17th for Meals on Wheels which will give us a chance to publicize it a bit more.
PASTOR’S REPORT: A Motion was made to accept the Pastor's report. SECONDED by Don Reedy. MOTION PASSED.
INREACH: Bob Kristianson told us about his plans for visits for St. Patrick's Day and Easter. MARKETING
