FROM THE COUNCIL PRESIDENT

Spring is really here! The evidence of new life all around us just happens to coincide with Atonement's anniversary and our new beginning.

A huge THANK YOU to Carolyn Kalk and David Rounds, co-chairs of the anniversary event. Wasn't it wonderful to see everyone and hear the greetings from those who could not attend? Be sure to order the commemorative booklet and ornament--each are $5 and you can contact Pattye at the church office.

A thank you has been received from Bishop Carlson for our contribution to the benevolence fund--73% supports such things as missionaries and overseas volunteers, 280 social service organizations, 8 seminaries, 28 colleges and universities, 144 campus ministries and 145 camps; while 27% provides funding for direct ministry in the South-Central Synod which consists of 150 congregations.

Look for special events as we move forward--a spaghetti dinner, Fathers' Day happening, Snappers' Ball game, National Night Out and ??? who knows what. Very soon you will be asked to complete a Time and Talent form so that you can choose how you can help in the ministry at Atonement. Let's not lose the enthusiasm we have as we move forward in doing God's work in our neighborhood and community.
