tragedies and troubles.

So, "Have yourself a merry little Christmas" and remember that the cycle of life and death that we hallow each year actually celebrates the new life we have in Christ Jesus.  Amen.

            The Beloit International Film Festival

The Beloit International Film Festival, which will bring scores of great documentaries, short films and independent features to Beloit for four days in January, will get off on the right foot - or right skate - in a special preview event Saturday, Nov. 26. The exciting Movies On Ice is designed for the whole family and will get underway at 1:45 p.m. at the Edwards Ice Arena at 2101 Cranston Road in Beloit.  The highlight of the afternoon will be a showing of Tim Allen's feature film "The Santa Claus" which will be screened at the rink while families are skating. The event is sponsored by the Beloit International Film Festival in cooperation with the City of Beloit Leisure Services. The Beloit International Film Festival is sponsored by The Hendricks Group in association with Beloit College. According to Film Festival director Rod Beaudoin, "This will be a great 'families having fun' event that will give everyone a preview of some of the excitement coming up in January. Participants in Movies on Ice will get an early look at the schedule for the films and events that will fill the four-day festival, Jan.19-22."

The Beloit Youth Hockey Club will provide refreshments at the rink as a fund-raiser during the two hour event. The skating is free and open to the public and skate rentals are free for as long as they last in exchange for a canned good for the Beloit Food Pantry. For non-skaters, the Friday Nov. 25 Beloit Holiday lighted parade will provide another opportunity to get information about the Beloit's Film Festival. The festival will have its own float and representatives will be handing out information flyers along the parade route.
