ATONEMENT LUTHERAN CHURCH

Council Meeting November 13, 2006

PRESENT: Pastor Tina Koenig Ray, Bruce Johnson, Judy Gundry, David Schneider, Nate Anderson, Mary Wendtland, Nobert Larson, Char Affeldt, Candy Hoefer, Don Reedy.

ABSENT: Cheryl Ramczyk, Carole Doubleday.

CALL TO ORDER: President Bruce Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. Don Reedy made a motion to accept the agenda with no additions.

Judy Gundry seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.

DEVOTIONS: Led by David Schneider

GOOD NEWS: Hands of Faith had a good week, our guests were very pleased. Halloween … hot chocolate to the neighborhood kids. We had plenty of helpers that night. The Senior Fair went very well. Stewardship is off to a good start.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES October 9, 2006 meeting. Char Affeldt made a motion to accept minutes as read. Nate Anderson seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.

OLD BUSINESS: We will again table the Navajo support issue until another time when more information is available. Taco Johns receipt fund raiser went rather, we collected approximately 109.00 in receipts. Latino Ministry, things are moving along and it now seems that they may just be interested in using our fellowship spaces for special events. Calvary & Pella new name SPIRIT OF HOPE.

FINANCIAL REPORT: October 2006 5 Sundays in October. Judy Gundry made a motion to approve the Financial report for October 2006. Don Reedy seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.

NEW BUSINESS: New hymnals. Carol, Cheryl, Tina, Rollyn and Char went to an informational meeting featuring the new book of worship. They are very nice. We have money for 75 hymnals. We would go to the congregation to offer the purchase of the remaining hymnals needed, by private purchases in

"honor of" or in "memory of ". Judy Gundry made a motion to purchase the new book of worship. Mary Wendtland seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.

PASTORS REPORT: Thanksgiving Eve Service November 22 with joint choirs. Pastor Kurt Handrich will be preaching. The service will be at 7:00 p.m. sisterhood will organize the fellowship afterward. One confirmation student this season, Michael Janke. Next year there should be 3 confirmands. Three services for Christmas Eve.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Financial & marketing: Thanksgiving ads and Christmas

Inreach : Bob Kristiansen would like to send council meeting minutes to shut-ins.

Property: written report

Stewardship: Don has received 46 sheets which total 68 members with a total of 77,294.00 pledged.

Worship and Music: Next meeting Dec 9 at 9:00 a.m.

Yag : 3 students… will it continue next year?

Outreach: Sr. Fair Halloween, Chili cook-off in February

OFFICE NEEDS: Char made a motion to purchase office needs. Judy Gundry seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.

Nate Anderson made a motion to accept all committee reports. Char Affeldt seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.
