Council Meeting January 8, 2007
PRESENT: Pastor Tina Koenig Ray, Norbert Larson, Don Reedy, Bruce Johnson, Judy Gundry, Carole Doubleday, Nate Anderson, Char Affeldt,

ABSENT: Cheryl Ramczyk, Mary Wendtland, David Schneider
CALL TO ORDER: President Bruce Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. There were two additions to the agenda, one under New Business and one under Old Business. Judy Gundry made a motion to approve the agenda with the two additions. Nate Anderson seconded the motion. Vote Taken. MOTION PASSED.
GOOD NEWS: Good contributions on December 24, 2006, at the Christmas Eve services. There have been more children attending. Christmas Eve Services were very nice.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: December 11, 2006 meeting. Nate Anderson made a motion to accept the minutes with changes made to Latino ministry e mail entry. Don Reedy seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED
OLD BUSINESS: Lutheran Church of The Great Spirit in Milwaukee..Native American Ministry in Milwaukee. Average attendance of 35. They have no Pastor at this time. They could use our help. It could be as little as being prayer partners or donations of our old hymnals etc. We will explore this further as time goes on. The Childrens Choir from India is scheduled to perform on August 2, 2007 at Our Saviors Church.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Maggie Janke says we have ended the year with a positive balance, bills are paid. Judy Gundry made a motion to put $7000.00 in a savings to earn some more interest. Carole Doubleday seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED. Don Reedy made a motion to accept the financial report for December 2006. Judy Gundry seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.
NEW BUSINESS: Mary Wendtland, Nate Anderson, Char Affeldt and Candy Hoefer have finished their terms on the council. We will make an announcement after the services to let everyone know we are looking for new people to serve. March for Meals. Char Affeldt made a motion that we designate the month of March for a special donation project for Meals on Wheels. Judy Gundry seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.
PASTOR’S REPORT: February 21 is Ash Wednesday there will be an Ecumenical service here at Atonement. We will need desserts and people to serve after the service. Nate Anderson made a motion to accept the Pastor’s Report. Don Reedy seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
FINANCE AND MARKETING : Statements have been sent out. Judy is preparing for easter ads.
INREACH:
PROPERTY: They are contemplating purchasing some lighter tables for the basement.
STEWARDSHIP: Possible workshop in Delavan in September.
50 contribution forms have been collected with donations from $52.00 a year to $2,080.00 a year.
WORSHIP & MUSIC: next mtg on February 3, 2007 9:00 a.m.
MUTUAL MINISTRY: Need a new person to serve.
SCHOLARSHIP: Deena is graduating in May 2007.

Don Reedy made a motion to accept all Committee Reports as given. Nate Anderson seconded the motion. Vote taken. MOTION PASSED.
