ModuMath Arithmetic, Measurement, Algebra
ModuMath was developed by the Wisconsin Technical College System Foundation over a period of over 20 years for use within the Wisconsin Technical College System and for sale to other schools. The project originally started out with video tapes which were later put onto video laserdiscs. These were coupled with a computer to create interactive lessons with the computer controlling the video laserdisc player. A portion of a lesson would be taught using the video then the system would switch to the computer to ask questions about what was just taught. If answered correctly, the system would move on, if incorrectly answered, the system would loop back and re-teach the skill. In the late 1990’s, the laserdisc system was converted to CD-ROM which could then run on virtually any Windows based multi-media computer.
ModuMath includes a management system which allows for multiple instructors and classes. Students can be assigned lessons either by an instructor or through a placement test administered by the computer. Students can also be given the option to move through the program at will.
Systems for Sale
Blackhawk Technical College is converting to the CD-ROM version of the program and I purchased a number of the older Laserdisc system components and Laserdiscs in November of 2002 that Blackhawk Technical College sold at auction. I have put these components back into working computers and have the systems for sale. The technology is older but has better video and audio quality than the newer CD-ROM version. There are also advantages to the older student management system over the newer version.
I am asking between $400.00 and $600.00 for the systems depending on the base computer it is running on and the video system being used. All systems come with the following:
39 lessons in Arithmetic and a new study guide
12 lessons Measurement and a new study guide
32 lessons of first year Algebra and a new study guide
a 6 month replacement warranty on the components
Free installation and set up with up to an hour's worth of training in Dane, Rock, Green, and Walworth counties
I also have information about purchasing the newer CD-ROM version of the software which has the advantage of running on your existing Windows based multi-media computer..

Following are links to listings of lessons in ModuMath’s three content areas along with sample screens from the CD-ROM version. The lessons for the Laserdisc system are identical but the student and management system screen shots will look different.
